THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SUSTAINABILITY FORUM

HOSTED BY

THE LOS ANGELES REGIONAL COLLABORATIVE FOR CLIMATE ACTION AND SUSTAINABILITY (LARC)

RENAISSANCE LONG BEACH HOTEL

AUGUST 15 AND 16, 2012

ABOUT THE EVENT

The annual Southern California Sustainability Forum is a premiere event for organizations at the front lines of sustainability.   As such, it is your opportunity to access the broad expertise in the region and learn how to respond to sustainability’s many opportunities and demands.   It brings together government officials, academics, business leaders and other experts to share knowledge, identify priorities, and develop strategies to build a sustainable southern California.

Highlighting various clean technology sectors, this year’s panelists include executives from leading organizations in industries ranging from electric vehicle suppliers to clean energy producers.  The forum also features sessions on regional-climate-change impacts and response strategies.

New this year is a panel discussion examining:

“Sustainability’s Business Proposition:  Making Money by Doing Good”.

With participation by the Orange County Sustainability Collaborative (OCSC), CleanTech OC (CTOC), and Orange County members of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP), this presentation will case study the five elements of corporate environmental sustainability:

  • Systematic program management
  • Regulatory and industry-standards compliance
  • Cost-and-risk-reducing efficiencies throughout the entire lifecycles of value systems
  • Revenue-stream enhancement through green-attribute products and services, and
  • Competitive advantages through greenwash-free corporate transparency.

Grosskopf, will resign effective July 10, 2012.  Mr. Grosskopf has accepted the position of Director of Environment, Health, Safety, Social Responsibility and Sustainability with a major producer of electrical control systems in the Pacific Northwest.   Despite his physical move, he will continue with OCSC as a senior advisor.
